MUHAHAHAHHA! I passed :)

Was quite stupid on the day of the test though. I prepared 100plus but forgot to bring. spent 10 min in the morning trying to dry my face towel that I washed the day before and then forgot to bring. Forgot to bring my notebook with all my PGA notes! Luckily GOBO10 sort of revised stuff for a while in the bus.

Then, my bag flooded cos my water bottle's cap came off. ah wells.... had to lay out my stuff to let them dry. My guide handbook was safe though.

Also very luckily, we trained with boiling more water :) My timing wasn't very good but I passed anyway. Chose to do turfing and firelighting first cos I felt that was my biggest hurdle out of all of the stations, so after I passed it I felt much more relaxed. We also prepared A LOT of twigs and punk. Quite hilarious seeing boxes of twigs and punk left. but was quite troublesome bringing them back.

After the test, we went back to to school to put back everything. and took photos lol! like funny photos. Tried to do jumshots but failed. Then, we went to golden rooster to eat and hogged up 1 row of tables. had oreo crush ;)

After that, 4 of us went to Guide House to show our jam to our tester cos we failed the other time. My jam passed too :)

Feel accomplished after passing 2 badges. haha!

I think I will miss training for pioneer's badge though. It's tiring but fun :)

Food from the Heart

Yesterday, I had cip at Bukit Batok CC for Food from the Heart :)

For the first half of the session, my patrol went to give out flyers. But there were so many and limited time, we just gave to those we saw as much as possible and then put the remaining on cars :) Quite cool seeing pink pieces of paper all around.

Then we joined our group again for door-to-door collection of food. Was quite funny as on a level of about 8 units, only 2-3 had people around to open the doors. They have very nice houses too! cos the few blocks we went to consisted of mansionettes.

Some funny moments were when we went to a unit, we heard some knocking on the door from the inside. Then we saw a few palms on the window that was blurred (like frosted glass). haha... kids... On our own, I think we were all imagining haunted stories about mysterious knockings and cries for help. The kids were quite cute too!

I liked the dog we saw as well... very playful and not afraid of/ fierce towards strangers... and the unit that had chinese new year and christmas deco on their door at the same time!

It's quite amazing to see how a few small collections from each level can contribute to make a huge pile of food ;) This pile of food will be distributed to the needy.. I really hope it helps. Some of us stayed back to pack the food into categories and plastic bags. There were like... 30 cans of condensed milk? Some even donated abalone. There was this guy who specially went to buy a box of canned stewed pork to donate. There were 16 cans :) There was a unit that also contributed one huge bag of food that was contained in a garbage bag (clean one of course... just that a normal plastic bag was not big enough). Although sometimes, the response was rather lukewarm/ cold when many ppl said they had nothing to donate, there are still people who go the extra mile to help the needy ;)
