Had teachers' day celebrations on fri!

Had quite a lot of fun during the class party... haha.
Oh and the performances. I loved the Go Green fashion parade when the parents support group created awesome costumes out of recycled material. the presentation of the teachers' awards were hilarious too :) especially miss soh's posing. Haha... Mr. Lim, being Mr. Charming carried her up on stage, then she sat on the desk and started posing. After that, she had to pose on the chair, and gestured Mr. Chia to go over there before she started posing. haha. Finally, she went to receive her Ms. Charming award. Went about giving teachers their teachers' day presents:)

Finally, i went back to pcps. quite a few 6b ppl were there already, but we waited for more ppl to come before we went to look for teachers. I managed to sell 4 notebooks (the animal cruelty ones) too! Thanks bob, jingyao and kiatlong! Bob bought 2 haha :)

When around 12 of us were here, we decided to go look for mdm aida who was in the hall. Kind of sad she's leaving singapore as her husband was posted to Germany to work. But she said she'll tell us if she comes back to visit from time to time. Took photos too :)

Met feng lao shi next. Haha, couldn't rmb our names... just our looks. We were chased back to the canteen though... cos we weren't suppose to go upstairs.

Then we went to tpy central to have lunch. like... 14 of us? lol... biggest gathering since p6.... unplanned some more.... the other time at Escape, we only had 10 ppl. cos the bus stop was kinda full, we decided to just walk there. When we reached, we were like discussing where to eat and all that... and decided to just get wateva we wanna eat and meet back at the open space. But in the end, we just went to Mac to eat. boys sat with boys, girls sat with girls haha. We (girls) just chatted and stuff.

After lunch we all left and zoe, wai tiem, hazel and I went to hazel's house. did math haha.

founder's day parade

haha... pretty late to post about it now... but founder's day parade was pretty good. Some mistakes here and there, but it's ok... we did put in our effort. GREAT JOB XIAO EN!! Really impressed you managed to command so well despite having a not-so-healthy throat that day :)

Love this year's parade. Lots of thanks to the FCs' boldness to try something new :) SJ and NPCC marching out from 2 sides than in between each other... flag bearers slow marching.... GOH impeding (sp?) as we marching out... haha, i enjoyed doing it :)

oya... and thanks to the drummers from concert band!

It'll be another 3 years before NYGG becomes GOH again but i won't be able to see it... luckily all of us managed to make year's a memorable and unique one :)

So national day was on saturday :)

Well, I didnt really watch the parade cos i was too engrossed to Breaking Dawn... oh wells, I caught the marching in part though.

I dunno, watching them march this year was different from previous years. In Sec 1, footdrill was like tiring and dull. In Sec 2, after fancy footdrill, and thinking day parade, it was ok, but footdrill sessions were not exactly something I looked forward to.This year, with another round of Thinking Day parade, footdrill comander selections, Founder's Day parade preparation... I dunno.. just had this feeling of awe when I watched them march. Many people may think that this is the dullest and most uninteresting part of the NDP, but any UG person will understand the effort, teamwork and discipline needed to do that.... the marching, standing, formations... all the details like looking up at the same degree, jerking of arms at the same degree, hentaking at the same degree... etc. It's really not easy.

Well, perhaps cos we have been practising for Founder's Day parade, and I also got to witness the amount of effort our new footdrill commanders, my batchmates, put into this parade. Amount of determination by the sec 2s, as well sec 3s. Things we had to deal with like the sun practically toasting you... trying to beat the weather and practice as much as possible before it pours.... trying not to disturb the dsa interviews... trying to standardise all the stamps/ turning/ marching/ etc amongst all 3 UGs. Some ppl think it is useless, that we will not be doing footdrill once we leave sec sch anyway... but that's just on the superficial level. There's so much you will learn and experience through 4 years of it... at different stages - from picking up new commands, getting a hang out of it, to teaching commands to your juniors... willing yourself to stay focused, encouraging your batchmates, to encouraging your juniors.... only caring about how tired you are, looking out for your batchmates, to taking care of your juniors... I mean, it's not just about the skills.

Anyways... founder's day parade is in like... 4 days. We will all make it yea! With our new formations and practices, we'll do nygg proud, we'll show what UGs are made of.

On 15 Aug, guides, npcc, st john's. We'll stand as one UG :)
