So thinking day is over. frankly speaking i was not really as satisfied with our performance for the parade this year as last year... but nvm.... we all tried our best :) That's the nygg SPIRIT! There's still a long way to go... parade's just the start.

I quite like this year's theme for Girl Guides Singapore:

Discover You Potential: Every Guide, A Leader

Let's strive towards this kks? I kinda look forward to the rest of the year.... as a sec 3 guide, as a councillor. It'll definately be much more challenging... but i'll learn a lot. I wanna spread the SPIRIT :):):) I must have the strong spirit in the first place though... lately ive been in the sian attitide..... must pull myself together. ROAR... haha.... hope i'll have a new and improved attitude when I go through OBS. Lots of challenges for me this year... don't you think? I must learn to embrace challenges and not be afraid to make mistakes.... shall learn to keep my spirits UP :)

Thinking Day Rally

Hiya.... back from Thinking Day Rally. Nanyang received a Gold and Bronze award for the PNA award. Great job dears :) lets strive to do even better in the coming year. Pei Chun Brownies received a Gold too :)

Stepping into the indoor stadium for TDR again this year brought back memories. Yup.... our thinking day item- fancy footdrill. Well, the items diff schools performed last year were part of the pageant for Girl Guide's Singapore's 90th anniversary. It's not a beauty contest ok... anyway... I miss pageant like mad. All the batch drills, dancing, cracking our brains to choreograph the entire thing, bonding, practices before school, during lunch and after school.... Though it was really a busy period for those 2 months, I certainly enjoyed it. Our hard work paid off in the end too :) I still rmb the sec 3s last year helping us and guiding us.... if there were a chance, I would have done it all over again. Well, I m kinda disappointed that we did not manage to get a video of the actual performance though. however, it may be precisely bcos of that, I treasure this memory even more.

I read the entry about pageant that I posted a year ago. Haha.... I now recall how nervous and excited I felt before the performance.... how satisefied I felt when it was completed.... how proud I felt when we received those encouraging comments from the the rest of NYGG. This may be one of the highlights of my years in Girl Guides.

Lately I've been kinda lethargic and not really having the kind of driving force I had just a year ago. all that rushing to lunch drills and practices and all that last year.... it was hectic, but I loved it. i think i need to find that kind of feeling and bring it back to me.... now that i m in sec 3, with council stuff added to what I already have. I need that passion. I pretty sure I have it.... I just needa bring it out. Yup :)

Thinking Day Parade and Investiture

What an eventful day - Thinking Day Parade plus Investiture. Today sorta zoomed by in a blur... everything was happening so fast. With a blink of an eye the events that I had been preparing for for about 2 months have ended. Well, this was how it went...

Thinking Day :)
Reached school dark and early at 6.20 am. We had our uniform check and our very last rehearsal. For some reason I became quite nervous right before the actual parade, but it became quite all right after I started marching. I made some coordination mistakes though...argh. O swells. We did the flag raising ceremony and had a Thinking Day speech. Shi Ting also announced that we had received a gold and bronze award for each of our company. Amanda led us in renewing our Promise. I actually felt proud as I said the Promise:) Then, we started to march off and quite funnily, one of the male teachers started to cheer and clap really loudly so the whole school followed. Haha... I had to suppress my smile. It was quite different from last year though... last year was much more solemn and everyone was very quiet. Anyway, before I knew it, we completed the entire parade. I felt a mixture of relief, joy, a lil bit of embarrassment (cos of the mistakes).... owells, it's quite hard to explain but I still find it quite hard to believe that it is over. After assembly, we carried out our tradition. We had our PHOTOTAKING!!!!! haha, it was really fun. We went to the middle of the quadrangle after that and cheered the v-bom cheer. haha.

Thanks for wishing Linxi and me a happy thinking day miss chia! haha. I actually wanted to wish all the guides a happy thinking day when i meet them around school but i was too busy with investititure. Nvm, we'll be goin to the indoor stadium tomorrow for our THINKING DAY RALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To all my dear cca mates... HAPPY THINKING DAY!!! LOVE YOU ALL!!! Lets strive for the best for the rest of the year kks. To the sec 2s, I hope you had a memorable time (including footdrill practices, rehearsals and the actual parade) since this is the first parade you have every had as a Nanyang Guide. Have a good rest!

Investiture.
Pei Shan and I chionged to change into our formal u. I took quite a long time cos i was in my guides full u. when my classmates saw me in my formal u, they went "woah" just to tease me. owells. anyways, we had our rehearsal and I still made a mistake cos i used my left leg to step back after receiving my badge. Haizz... maybe cos i m so used to footdrill-style.... always start with left leg most of the time. During the break, i had to chiong and try to print one of the labels for the seats cos some how it was left out. Then, the stupid printer at the library did not want to print. so i wasted my time and was also late for the practise. Luckily I was not assigned a duty when the people started to arrive so i could go to the comp lab to print. I was quite flustered cos after printing, i went to fix my shoes that was too loose. My shoe was stuffed with tissue paper but it kept compressing and became hard. so it was kinda painful. Anyway, I used a socks to replace the tissue paper... then the shoes became very tight.... had to bear with it cos there was not enough time. Saw my mummy outside the audi and led her in. haha. thats not even ushering. At 12.45, being the sotong i am... i went to the wrong entrance to get ready for the walking in. luckily i realised it and went to the right one.

So it all started with the walking in (i almost lost balance but luckily i didnt fall). My heart was thumping ok.... cos i was kinda afraid i might make some stupid mistake like bowing or sitting at the wrong time. it turned out qutie fine except I used my left leg to step back AGAIN even though i reminded myself as i was walking to the principal. guess i sorta blanked out after receiving the badge. I like Claire's speech. It's quite funny but i had to suppress my laughter and just smile without my teeth. Anyway, after that, we held a school tour for the schools that came. Then it was PHOTO TAKING. haha. there were formal photos and fun shots for council photo and comittee photo. Then it was clearing up and also congratulating each other.

well, after investiture, I forgot to hand in my physics ws, so my dad drived back half way as we were heading home so I could put it in my teacher's pigeonhole. Thanks dad.

I didnt do too well in informing you guys about the rehearsals and all that so some stuff was quite rushed. Still, you guys did a great job with the lightings and all that. Thanks a lot!!!

contact lenses

Yoho.... just back from AMK hub. Finally went to take my lenses with my sis and learnt how to wear them. I think i took longer than her to put on and take out cos she managed to do that with her 1st try. I took about 20 min. My left eye seems to be easier to handle as compared to my right one... just like my sis. Anyway, I received a free spectacle case for my specs which looks quite heavy-duty and cool... haha. I m still getting use to my contacts though... feels a lil weird. I take forever to take them out too.

Well, here' s how i learnt to wear them...
i was taught to use my left index finger to pull up my upper eyelid the pull down the lower eyelid with my left middle finger. Then, with the contact lens on my right index finger, i needa place it onto my eye.... and my eye kept blinking like mad and tears flowed. super funny. anyway, i managed to put the lenses on. taking out was harder for me cos i could not "pinch" the lenses out. I succeeded in putting them on my first try with my left eye, and the 2nd or 3rd for my right. taking out took a lil longer though. and i was tearing like mad... but nvm.

Hiya, i m back in school after a nice long cny break :) I've recovered too.... thanks for all the concern you guys.... I just phlegm left but i m not coughing anymore. I've unbanned myself from the cny stuff too... in moderate amounts of course.

Though I had quite a few days for cny break... I still feel kinda tired after the first day... o wells. THINKING DAY PARADE IS ON NEXT FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! INVESTITURE IS ALSO ON NEXT FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!! JIAYOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Early Bronchitis?

Heya.... I finally know why my cough has not been getting any better since last week. Previously, when it was quite mild my doctor diagnosed it as a normal common cough. but then... it got worse and my mum brought me to another doctor. Then the doc said i had contracted some bug that causes early bronchitis. But the mild type. That's y the earlier medicine didnt work. She said i contracted it because of low immune system that may be caused by not enough sleep and stress.... so i must slp more.

Here comes the sad part.... i m banned from all cny snacks and cold drinks.... only can take warm water.... no fruits. owells.... if un-ban myself when i m still sick... my condition will get worse. So those with low immune systems... please try not to come near me.... i dun want to infect the you and ruin your CNY.
