Happy Birthday AMELIA!!!

haha, I think we scared amelia quite a bit cos of SWC's evil plan. hehe.

this is our rough but evil plan...

I will inform Amelia during the weekends about meeting the seniors on Monday, 28 Jan 2008 at 8 am (canteen). But I think we should come about 10-15 min earlier to hide and in case she comes early.

Me: Hello Amelia. Umm, the seniors asked me to inform you that they want to meet you on Monday at 8am. I'm not sure what it is about... but I think they not very happy leh.

Mon, 28 Jan, 8am
Seniors will be there a little earlier at the canteen and occupy one side of a table.
Juniors will be hiding nearby with the presents and cake
*When Amelia comes, seniors will act stern.
Seniors (in a serious tone): Hello Amelia, sit down (she will be at the other side of the table). Do you know why we want to meet you
Amelia: No...Seniors: Do you remember what you did?
Amelia: No...Seniors: Really?
Amelia: Yes...Seniors: Then do you know what day it is today
Amelia: ...

Juniors sneak from behind Amelia with present and the cake.
Everyone: Happy Birthday to you... Then we'll all sing the birthday song, eat the cake and give her the presents.

* Kelly will go and buy a small chocolate cake during the weekends. Our budget is at most $15. Rmb to make sure it has a knife and 15 candles :)

* I will bring forks, serviettes, a lighter and a camera

That was what happened today roughly. In the morning I was pretty excited... haha. What the seniors said was much different and longer though. The dialoque between Amelia and the seniors was imagined cos I didn't get to hear them. We (the juniors) were hiding behind a concrete part of the stairs as we prepared the cake while the seniors "questioned" her. The seniors were trying not to grin though Amelia said Yen Jin was very convincing. Anyway, glad we managed to give her a surprise. haha. Happy Birthday!!!

I shall stay strong and not give up

I just realised I have been making Sec 3 life seem as if I were going to war. Have I really thought about those who do not even have the chance to study, or have to worry about their daily necessities. What about those who face even more stress and competition than me? I have a roof over my head, enough to eat, a computer, internet access, great friends and batchmates, people who will listen to me while I ramble on, people who care. I am considered luckier than many others already. I guess as a Sec 3 student, I really ought to think about stuff going on around me and not have my world revolve around me. After all, it has always been revolving around me for more than 14 years. i think I haven't really done as much as I would have liked to for my class, cca and SC. Maybe I'm still adapting. I hope I'll do better from now onwards, especially since the sec 1s will be having their first cca session with us this Fri. I should, will, be friendly and enthusiastic and not be lethargic like the past few days. Sometimes I really envy those who never fail to bring humour and laughter into other people's lives even when they are also tired themselves.

Well, today's outdoor cooking was good and it felt quite different cos only the Sec 3s were doing the outdoor cooking. It's great we managed to come down as an entire batch to organize and execute this session. I think the China people also had a good time. I feel kinda embarrased though.... cos I didn't cook very well and they did most of the cooking. The food turned out quite nice, especially the banana chocolate creation we did.

That's all for now. It's funny how I blog more when I'm busier. Guess blogging was just a trend I followed last time, but a need nowadays. Shall make this some sort of a reflecting and recording medium.

Monday Stuff

Hiya, today was prety much the same as any other Monday.... chiong homework.... etc. I like Mondays a lil more now cos we start school and hour late...haha. I spent that hour doing math in school. I still get a bit of Monday blues though, in contrast to last year.

I enjoyed today's assembly actually. A doctor who lives in China came back to Singapore to share his experiences as a doctor in the rural areas of China. Though he lives in the city, I think he goes to the villages frequently to provide medical aid. I really got to know more about the living conditions there and how the economy gap is getting wider. He also talked about "tree leaf line" adn about learning from the farmers.

Anyway, went for the scholar induction after school. Basically, we had activities for the scholars and new students so that we could get to know each other. They were quite open already though, since they stay in the boarding school together.

Yay... tomoro's outdoor cooking and we'll be preparing food for the visitors from Shenyang. I'll also be starting on my first BSP lecture tomoro.... oya, there's also phototaking for Comm pic :)

Hiya, changed my blogskin cos the previous one (Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire) was way too old. haha. Anyways, I'm kinda busy these days actually. With school work and all that. I MUST IMPROVE ON MY FOOTDRILL. made a lot of stupid mistakes and didnt take lunch, so I found iit quite hard to lock my arms. must jia you.

I.....am......tired..... and it's only the 3rd week. Anyway, I think i'll get used to it. Things I have to memorise... chem valencies.... bio names of parts of cells and their functions (the complicated one).... math test on Chapter 1 and 2. Plus hw. o wells, I shall jia you.

on a higher note, I passed my piano grade 6 practical :) ..........by 3 marks. 68/100. Well done... pats back. I thought I was gonna fail. At least I m getting a certificate.

Heya, back from 1st wk of school... actually it's onli 3 days - 1 admin day, 2 study day. Was kinda heavy for me cos there were no non-academic stuff in between lessons like music and art. Owells, it's the mugging year. Had telematch with the sec 1s though and I hope I'll look ok on my photo cos I also had photo taking :)

Oya, I also repaired my internet connection. yay. Had been using my dad's comp cos I couldnt fix for like... a year?

New Year Resolutions/Goals

2008 Resolutions and Goals

Generally:
1. Be more neat and organised
2. Keep spirits up
3. Exercise more

Academics:
1. Try to finish homework asap, do not drag
2. Do not do last-minute studying for tests/exams/etc
3. Pay attention in class

Guides :)
1. Lead juniors well
2. Improve on skills
3. Keep up passion for guides and spread it

Student Council:
1. Improve leadership skills
2. Be more initiative
3. Be more alert and not be so forgetful

Like what the seniors said, Sec 3 will be hard... and it will be the hardest year, but I have to be enthusiastic and keep an open mind :) Try my best and be an optimist. There's a lot to work on and I will improve along the way... Jia You Sec 3s!!!

I must remember...
- I have a bunch of great batchmates:) Guides rule!
- I have people around me that I care about and they care about me
- No matter what, press on
- It's ok to fall, just get back onto my feet
- Put in effort and I'll be happy
- Don't lose interest just because things are becoming harder
- Things will get better after I have adapted to the changes
- Treat this as a challenge, don't dread it
- When I get too tired, take a rest, but don't quit
