Farewell and hand over ceremony

Today, we had our hand over ceremony and farewell party for our Sec 4s. The sec 1s came at around 8 - 8.30 to practice our item and make some bookmarks for our sec 4s. Then at 9.30, we had to fall in and rehearse our ceremony. Since it was raining, we did it in the hall. So we started off by falling in in our patrols and did the horse shoe formation. Then, they called for the existing PLs and PSes to fall out and march to the front, followed by the incoming PLs and PSes. Then we had to salute them and they salute back. When all the patrols were done, the incoming CLs and ACLs did the same. The actual ceremony was about the same just that the had to put on the silver ribbon that indicates their rank on their shoulders.

Next was lunch. The sec 2s were in charge so they would get a hostess and cooks badge. The sec 4s received a door gift kinda thing too. The sec 2s prepared a little too much food though it was quite nice. When we finished our lunch we had patrol corner. We gave our sec 4s gifts we prepared during the weekends. The gifts were actually cushions with covers we designed that said "Sparrow Loves (name of sec 4)" . Our names were also written around the edges of the cover. We also chatted during patrol corner. Stuff like school and all that. Calean gave us xmas cards, shuning and yibing gave us letters cos they were leaving and shuning also gave us chocolates. I sure am gonna miss them. We took pictures of our patrol right before we wrapped up... hope to get some of those pics...haha.

When it was done we went to the English Lab I think.... dun really rmb what it was called. Anyway, we went into the room for the party. Our theme was retro, so the sec 3s who prepared this told them that they had to put on costumes and catwalk in. Haha it was funny. They didnt really catwalk but they were really sporting. Our former ACLs had a skirt way too long for them so they wore it like a dress posed at us with their handbags. When they were done, we had our games. For the first one, six ppl had to stand on a poncho and try to move to the finishing line. For this, it was sec 1s vs sec 3s and sec 2s vs sec 4s. The sec 1s adn 4s won... yoohoo! Then we had the step on the balloons game. Dun rmb who won but it was very fun watching them. Next up was our item. We pretty much screwed it up but they clapped anyway. The powerpoint presentation xiao en prepared could not be opened and we couldnt sing properly cos we kept laughing. but we managed to give out the bookmarks while marsha and peiling played the recorder. The sec 2s, 3s and 4s sang for their item. The sec 4s also danced. We kept laughing cos some of them danced quite funnily. Maybe it was on purpose....haha. Then we had our song session. We sat in a circle sang quite a few sad songs. We had sorta had a hugging session. I hugged yibing, shuning, and then yibing again. It was quited emo (word i learnt from calean...haha) There were tears in my eyes... really didnt expect that. Iris and a few others were crying. Maybe because one of the sec 2s was leaving and would be continuing her sec sch education at victoria jc. Then, the sec 4s left so the sec 2s went to thekitchen and canteen to clear up, while the sec 3s and 1s stayed in the room to clear up.

We actually overshot the dismissal time by about 1 and a half hrs but we didnt mind... I hoped it was longer. I went to get a new set of uniform after clearing up before I went to check the new patrol allocation cos the shop was closing soon. Well.... I m still in Sparrow patrol....yooohoooo!!! Cant believe i m already going to be a sec 2 guide....new batch coming in soon and it's our turn to teach them. I m in publicity during the cca exhibition thing next year. I still rmb I was the first one to sign up earlier this yr on that black sheet of paper. It was the first thing I did during the exhibition. Haha.
